The accumulation of ‘small errors’ in your data adds up quickly.
Therefore it is key to use the correct datum transforms with the latest updates. As datums are updated, the transforms and software should be updated accordingly. Surprisingly, this isn’t always the case even with most commonly used GIS packages. Pacific-users, be sure to see important PacP00 updates as of Jan 2011!
All users should ‘do the right thing’ and update and install the latest transformations manually as needed.
